We welcome you to look for us on S21DX IOTA AS-127
Again we are ready for another IOTA. The IOTA will be at the beautiful Coral Island “St. Martin’s” in the Bay of Bengal. Look for us from 21st February to 25th February 2010 at different popular band.
St. Martin is the only coral island in Bangladesh (S2) and belongs to IOTA AS-127 Chittagong region group. There is also a lighthouse in the Island (WLOTA #2351) very near our camp site. There is no electricity and no motor vehicle in the Island which makes the air interfearence free, idle for us.
We will have two station and few antennas like last time:
- ICOM IC7000
- Yeasu FT600
- ICOM 706MKIIG (backup)
Operators will be:
- S21RC
- S21AM
- S21S
- S21D
- S21SZ
Callsign applied for the IOTA: S21DX
We will power the stations with 1KVA generator and 2x 125AH batteries.
We need your help to make the IOTA more effective. We need the folowing:
- Beam Antenna (Received one 5 band spiderbeam kit on 17th January 2010, thanks to GDXF, Spiderbeam and EB7DX)
- Bandpass filter
- Amplifier (we managed one very old Icom ic2kl amp, hope it will work)

Test feedback.
I look forward to a contact with AS-127. Please consider working cw on 40 meters listening between 7025 and 7027, some stations in the US can not go below 7025. Propogation shlould be good to North America around 1100 to 1300 utc.

Hi Fred,
Sorry that we have no operator here who can do CW
We will do RTTY, thats the best I guess to catch NA.
Fortunately this time we have got a Spiderbeam antenna, last time it was only wire dipole.
S21RC
Good Luck with the DXpedition guys.
Hope to catch you on 160m for a very “rare one” on Topband!
Best time for QSO is around 1900 – 0000 UTC (your Sunrise).

Hi Dave,
160 would be difficult for us as we are not going to operate CW. Any other suggestion? RTTY on 40?
S21RC
Looking forward to hopefully hearing and working you! Sounds like the top of the Lighthouse might be a great placemet for the antennas?
Good luck

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for your contribution. The authority will not allow us to put antennas on the lighthouse. We have plan to install a 5 band spiderbeam on 25feet above ground. anything higher is difficult to manage on the island. Hope to work you as well.
